Dan Janal interviews Norm Bour and Mike Tomlinson
If you look at all the ways to “get the word out” and generate business, NOTHING develops more credibility FASTER than the power of radio. Direct mail and newspaper advertising are too impersonal and usually discarded before the message can be absorbed, and television is too costly in addition to the average person being too jaded to believe what they see on television. But RADIO has been with us ALL of our lives: in our homes, in our cars- even in our portable media devices- and is now integral to our lifestyles.
But the average person has NO idea how radio “works”, including how to get their own radio Show, which stations to talk with, how to judge the response, among a host of similar questions. Our “How to Host Your Own Talk Radio Show” training will answer questions like:
- Where and how do you start putting together a radio Show? We’ll teach you.
- You need a studio, but it can be anywhere of your choosing or even in your home!
- Which radio station is the right one for me?
- Should I go with AM or FM?
- How much should a radio Show cost me? Or should it cost me ANYTHING?
- How do I create a Show “clock”?
- What should I expect from the Show?
- How do I brand myself?
- Do I do it alone or with a partner?
- What about guests?
- How do I handle callers? Do I need a “call screener”?
- Do I need advertisers and how do I find them? How do I charge?
- Can I use the Show to generate more media activity (HUGE)
- Should I consider expanding to multiple markets? Syndication: what is it and why should you think about it.
- What are “Arbitron ratings” and how do I judge my audience?
- What about satellite radio and using a satellite for distant markets?
- What day (or days) and times are best for my Show?
- What should my web site offer that accentuates the Show?
Our course will answer all these questions, plus many more, and help you reach a conclusion about whether radio is right for YOU. Starting with “baby steps”, the classes will share with you why radio is probably right for you. If it is, and you’re prepared to commit the effort, we offer advanced training which would include an intensive three-day training which would get your Show “flushed out”, work out the details of WHERE to air, and cut a demo to use for potential targets.
About your guests: Norm Bour is the co-host of “The Real Estate and Finance Show with Norm and Mike.” The Show has generated a lot of media buzz and enabled Norm to be quoted by a number of media publications, both radio and print, like bankrate.com, MSNBC, This Old House Magazine, Inman News, among others. With over 25 years in real estate and finance, along with extensive speaking and training experience, Norm was ideally suited to take his “word” to the airwaves. He has used it to jump start his mortgage business and “stand out” from his competition. Now he’s ready to train YOU how to do the same thing.

I’ve wanted to check out one of your Teleseminars for a while, so I’m glad I joined the Teleseminar today on ‘How to Host Your Own Talk Radio Show’. I’ve given a lot more thought to being a guest on a radio talk show than being the host of my own show – but that’s a road worth exploring too. I’m going to plan my schedule around more of these Teleseminars! Thanks!
