Every author says, “If only I could get onto Oprah, I’d have a best seller.”
Of course, if you’ve ever been on Oprah (and I know some of my readers have), then we all know that isn’t true.

I wondered why people don’t say, “If only I could get my book onto USA TODAY’s book page on Thursday, I’d have a best seller.”

OR

“If only I could get my book reviewed in the NY Times Book Section, I’d have a best seller.”

OR

“If only the Wall Street Journal would review my book.”

I’m guessing authors don’t say these things because they don’t read those publications. I find too many authors don’t really watch the media they need so desperately to woo.

Have you heard of Goodreads.com? The Goodreads Author Program is a completely free feature designed to help authors reach their target audience — passionate readers. This is a way for new and established authors to promote their books.

Why not try to get your book in front of people who actually read?
