Video solutions for publicity and media relations

Video press releases and video training are the hot marketing tools this year.

David Barrett offers these solutions to help you provide great training and save money!
1. Keep your videos short. People won’t spend one hour to view your video.
2. The length will vary by your purpose.
3. A commercial or quick tip can take 2-5 minutes or even less.
4. A training session shouldn’t exceed 10 minutes.

Posting video files takes up a lot of space with your Internet Service Provider and you could find that you are spending a small fortune to have them host your files. Fortunately, Audio Acrobat lets you host your files for just $20 a month for an unlimited number of files. That should save you a lot of money. Of course, you’ll pay a fee each time your visitors view a video, but you’d have to pay your ISP for that anyway.

Build Your Business with these Page-Turner Books

Vince Flynn and Andy Sernowitz wrote two page-turners that kept me awake for most of the weekend.

Flynn, author of Act of Treason, the latest in the Mitch Rapp terrorism series, keeps pages turning with non-stop action, intrigue and political back stabbing.



Sernovitz, the CEO of the Word of Mouth Marketing Association, kept my mind racing at 100 mph with new ideas and insights on how to grow my businesses by improving the customer experience.

Word of Mouth Marketing on the Internet, Sernowitz contends, is displacing traditional media as the place where people go to find information about products they want to buy, movies they want to watch and companies they want to do business with. Absorb this fact: an estimated 44 million people have posted product reviews online, according to Pew Internet. Companies like Amazon and Netflix get more sales by allowing customers to post reviews. And these reviewers have more trust than the media because, as he points out, people want to listen to “people like us.”

You need to know the tools and rules to build, promote, manage an effective word of mouth environment–and pay strict attention to the ethics of this campaign.

This is an important book that should be required reading to understand the ethics and the tools of Word of Mouth Marketing.

The book reminds me of another classic, “Revenge of Brand X; How to Build a Big Time Brand on the Web or Anywhere Else” by Rob Frankel who shows in clear language how the power of branding has shifted from the media to the masses.

Is your content ready for cell phones?

The mantra on the net has always been “Content is King.”

Now, cell phones are looking for content. Who knows, you might be the next Cell Phone Super Star!

Here’s an article in the New York Times that shows how a former writer for David Letterman parlayed his creativity into cash by writing a comic strip for the Amp’’d Mobile, a wireless service provider.

This is great publicity. I never heard of him or AMP’d before I read the article. I guess many others are like me. This news story harkens back to the early days of the web when announcing you had a web site was news. Really, it was! Hard to believe it now!

How can you get your hooks into the cell phone companies? Beats me! I don’t have a clue. But I’m guessing some entrepreneur will figure a way to become a literary agent and package this together. Who knows — it might be you!
